Laser Eye Surgery; My Experience

I’ve been considering laser eye surgery for over a year now, so with my 28th Birthday last month, I booked in for my treatment as a present to myself. Whilst this isn’t the cheapest of procedures, I figured it will be well worth it for 10+ years of perfect vision without glasses or contacts. Having done my research, I chose to go with Optical Express which is the UK’s number one provider of laser eye surgery. My experience was extremely positive, from the initial consultation to find out which eye surgery I was suitable for, to the day of surgery and aftercare which is just as important of course.

I had Lasik eye surgery which is the most common type of surgery with a very short recovery time, usually only two days. Immediately after the procedure which I had on Friday it was quite uncomfortable and I had to go home to sleep for a few hours. After a good night’s sleep however, I woke up with clear vision and could see everything in sharp focus, it felt like a miracle! I went for my next day checkup back at Optical Express on Saturday morning to check everything was healing ok and my prescription was indeed back to zero. Now it’s Sunday evening and I’m feeling good and ready to return to work tomorrow morning. I have a number of drops to take four times a day for a week as well as lubricant drops I will continue to take for a month. No makeup is allowed for a week and I mustn’t touch my eyes for this time also, but everything is feeling great and I don’t doubt I’ll be ready for a face of makeup by next Friday. How refreshing going to the pub this weekend makeup free though.

I couldn’t recommend laser eye surgery more to anyone who doesn’t like wearing their glasses and finds contacts inconvenient. My treatment cost £3,500 in total including all the aftercare and it’s been worth every penny for such lovely staff and specialists who guided me through my journey and made me feel very well cared for indeed. There’s no denying the surgery is quite invasive and you are awake, but it’s only a matter of minutes and the surgeon talks you through it so you know what to expect. It truly is life changing and I can’t wait to go on holiday for the first time with my new eyes! Thank you to the team at Optical Express for making my experience with laser eye surgery so seamless and positive.

When One Door Closes…

It goes without saying that if something doesn’t feel right in your life, it’s time to make a change. Whether it’s work, friends or living situation, you have the power to switch things up to find what makes you happy. Without getting too deep and philosophical, I truly believe that once you put the intention to end something out into the world, another door will open and present new opportunities.

I’ve recently made a difficult decision in my career and already there are exciting prospects on the horizon. At the end of the day, life is just too short to be spent doing something which doesn’t bring you happiness; I think that if the passion is lost then it’s time to do something different.

As the famous quote says, ‘Life begins at the end of your comfort zone’. Listen to your gut feeling, take a deep breath, and go make that change!

This weekend I celebrated my news with a fabulous pornstar martini cocktail at The Botanist – Cheers to living life on your own terms ❤

Creative Flows; Ride that Wave

Happy Sunday babes! I’m finally enjoying a proper weekend wind-down following a very busy and quite frankly, stressful couple of weeks at work. With my mind so preoccupied with daily life and engrossed in my work, I’ve found myself motivated and inspired to pursue some personal projects outside of my disciplined routine. Whilst creativity comes in waves and should never be forced, when ideas do surface, I think it’s a crucial moment to ride that wave and delve into your imagination…

So with all this creative energy currently surfacing, I decided it was the perfect opportunity to meet up with a friend and bounce our ideas off each other. With a spread of nibbles and bottle of wine open, it was the ideal setup to discuss our concepts, business plans and goals for the future. Without being unrealistic and setting unreachable targets, it’s great to talk about your ideas and really define your true passion project which is within the realms of your resources. Following our little Friday night meeting, we have set each other some small initial goals and further research to support the creative process.

Now it’s Sunday arvo and I’m feeling super positive and excited about my current side hustle plans taking shape. Of course it’s important to remember that these waves of inspiration come in ebbs and flows, so always ride the wave of creativity when it does flow and don’t be afraid to dream big! Never forget – ‘Our only limitations are those we setup in our own mind.’
