Interiors Journal; Lounge Decor Refresh

There’s something so satisfying about giving a room a little refresh without completely renovating it. Our lounge has always been one of my favourite spaces in the house, but recently I felt like it needed brightening up. The soft furnishings and decorative details were beginning to feel tired and with so many grey tones throughout the room, it had started to feel a little colder than I’d have liked. My goal was simple: create a space that felt warmer, cosier and a little more elevated, without replacing all of the larger furniture.

The first thing to go was our old rug. We’d had a dark grey shaggy rug for years and whilst it looked ok, it blended into all the other grey tones in the room and made the whole space feel darker.After plenty of searching, we settled on this super plush cream faux fur rug from Dunelm, and I honestly don’t think I could love it more. At just under £300, it feels far more luxurious than its price tag suggests. It’s incredibly soft underfoot and instantly brightened the entire room. It’s amazing how something as simple as changing a rug can completely transform the atmosphere of a space.

For years we’d used a large pouffe as our coffee table, but I was ready for something that made the lounge feel a little more grown up and a little less like a man cave! This beautiful travertine-effect coffee table from Dunelm for only £179 turned out to be exactly what I had in mind. The creamy stone finish complements the new rug perfectly and adds such an elegant focal point to the room. My favourite coffee table books and a cute basket tray with candles are the chicest finishing touch to complete the look.

With the oversized pouffe gone, we still wanted somewhere comfortable to put our feet up in the evenings, so I found the perfect solution in a soft cord pouffe from Dunelm in this gorgeous olive green shade. At only £45, it’s practical, lightweight and easy to move around depending on where we’re sitting. It also introduces another subtle pop of colour that ties in beautifully with the rest of the room.

One thing I’d really wanted to update was our cushions as the ones we’d had for years were definitely beginning to show their age. Amongst the endless cushion displays at Home Sense, I found these beautifully plush cream faux fur cushions that complement the rug perfectly. I love the subtle textured pattern which adds interest without competing with the patterned cushions we already owned. To finish the look, I went on the hunt for a cosy throw and eventually found this ribbed cream blanket on Amazon. It matches the textured base of the coffee table so well and is ideal for curling up under during cosy evenings at home.

Inspired by the boho chic aesthetic of interiors in Bali, I’ve always wanted to get a large wicker lampshade for the lounge and found the perfect match from (you guessed it!) Dunelm for only £49. Again, this adds a warmth to the room which was lacking before with those grey lampshades and the pattern it makes on the ceiling when turned on at night is stunning.

I’m still on the lookout for a new floor lamp for the corner of the sofa, but in the meantime I found this gorgeous rechargeable lamp from Amazon that looks so chic and elegant on our side table. It gives off such a warm glow in the evenings and adds another cosy layer of lighting to the room. The final thing I’d like to change in here is the wall artwork as well. Having now deviated from the blue tones we had before, we need something featuring some touches of greens and golds to complement the new colour palette.

Sometimes it’s the smallest changes that make the biggest difference. Simply updating the rug, coffee table, lampshade, cushions and accessories has completely transformed the feel of our lounge without the need for a full renovation. The overall palette now feels much softer, with neutral creams and warm greys layered alongside touches of jungle green and gold for a cosy yet timeless aesthetic.

It’s brighter, more inviting and finally feels like the relaxing, grown up living space we’d always envisioned for our living room ❤

72 Hours In Marbella; Where to Eat, Drink & Soak Up Marbella Energy

One of the things Marbella does exceptionally well is dining. Whether you’re sipping cocktails overlooking the Mediterranean, enjoying tapas beside the yachts of Puerto Banús or discovering hidden gems tucked away in the hills, every meal feels like part of the holiday experience.

Over our long weekend, we ate our way through some of Marbella’s most popular restaurants, alongside a few local finds, and every venue brought something different to the table. So here’s everywhere we ate and drank during our stay.

Lunch at LaLaLa, Puerto Banús

We kicked off our Marbella weekend with lunch at LaLaLa, perfectly positioned overlooking the glamorous Puerto Banús marina. 

Watching luxury yachts drift in and out while people wandered the waterfront was the ideal way to ease into holiday mode.

Keeping things traditional, we shared a generous spread of Spanish tapas including cured meats, local cheeses, fresh bread and of course, a plate of perfectly blistered Padrón peppers. Simple, authentic and exactly the sort of lunch you hope for on your first afternoon in Spain.

Friday Night at Zellij, Forum Marbella

For our first evening we headed to Zellij Restaurant, located amongst the stylish cluster of shops and eateries in Forum Marbella.

On a Friday night the atmosphere was electric with restaurants buzzing and the whole area filled with people enjoying the start of the weekend.

We began with barbecue chicken croquettes before moving on to the charcoal baby chicken served with roasted carrots, homemade za’atar, chicken jus and fresh herbs. Alongside it we ordered the fragrant saffron rice and a beautifully fresh salad of mixed leaves, roasted beetroot, orange blossom dressing and aged Parmesan.

Everything was packed with flavour without feeling overly heavy, making it the perfect meal before soaking up Marbella’s vibrant Friday night energy.

A Relaxed Lunch in Marbella Old Town

After a morning exploring the charming cobbled streets of Marbella Old Town, we found ourselves in the picturesque Plaza de los Naranjos and stopped for lunch at a local spot called Annare Italiana.

My boyfriend chose a comforting homemade lasagne while I fancied something lighter, opting for a fresh salad of lettuce, tomatoes, sweetcorn, onion and olives. Sometimes a big bowl of crisp, nutritious greens is exactly what you need.

Before continuing our wander through the boutiques and hidden alleyways, I picked up an iced long black from Kafein and it was without doubt one of the best coffees I had all weekend.

Saturday Night Glamour at La Petite Maison

If you’re looking for that iconic Marbella aesthetic, La Petite Maison delivers it effortlessly on all levels.

Overlooking the Mediterranean as the sun began to set, the restaurant came alive with singers and musicians entertaining guests throughout the evening, exactly what you imagine when you picture a chic Marbella date night.

Rather than ordering individual courses, we shared several dishes across the table including a fresh green lentil salad, creamy dauphinoise potatoes, steamed broccolini and the star of the meal, a beautifully grilled 400g sirloin steak.

Rich, perfectly cooked and everything you would expect from classic French cuisine; the steak just melted in the mouth.

After dinner we wandered over to the Puente Romano Plaza Bar for a night cap.

The atmosphere here was fantastic with people spilling out into the plaza enjoying the warm evening air.

The lovely bartender personalised our drinks to suit our tastes and my margarita, with the subtle addition of cocoa powder, was genuinely one of the most memorable cocktails I’ve ever had.

An impeccable ending to a wonderfully romantic evening.

A Casual Sunday Lunch by the Sea

Following a morning out on the water, we stumbled across Diblu while walking along Marbella’s beachfront promenade.

With uninterrupted views across the Mediterranean, it made an ideal relaxed lunch stop.

Still full from our hotel’s generous breakfast buffet, we kept things simple. I ordered an iced coffee while my boyfriend chose a tropical fruit milkshake blended with frozen yoghurt, then we shared a portion of crispy, salty sweet potato fries.

A Final Dinner at Nota Blu Brasserie

Our last evening took us to Nota Blu Brasserie, a recommendation from Chat GPT that absolutely lived up to expectations.

Nestled slightly inland among Marbella’s leafy hills, Nota Blu perfectly balances sophisticated dining with Marbella’s effortlessly cool, laid-back style.

Although there wasn’t live music on a Sunday evening, the restaurant was still filled with stylish locals and visitors enjoying one final weekend dinner.

For our meal we went back to some old favourites; a classic Caesar salad topped with prawns for her and a traditional margarita pizza for him.

The Caesar dressing was a little richer than I would usually choose, with what felt like an entire block of Parmesan generously sprinkled on top, but there was no denying how delicious it tasted. The pizza disappeared just as quickly and was equally enjoyable.

The service was attentive throughout and the views of the surrounding Spanish hills were stunning, making it a lovely place to finish our Marbella weekend mini break.

The Final Verdict

Dining in Marbella certainly isn’t the cheapest, but every meal felt like an experience rather than simply somewhere to eat. From elegant waterfront restaurants to bustling local squares and hidden hillside gems, every venue had its own unique personality.

If you’re searching for those iconic Marbella moments, La Petite Maison takes the crown. Between the sunset views, live music, exceptional food and effortlessly glamorous atmosphere, it’s everything you imagine a Marbella evening should be.

For a slightly more relaxed but equally stylish experience, Nota Blu Brasserie would be my recommendation. Chic without trying too hard, fantastic service and a wonderfully laid-back ambience make it the perfect spot for a memorable final evening dinner.

72 Hours In Marbella: The Ultimate Long Weekend Itinerary

With its golden coastline, designer boutiques, picturesque old streets and effortlessly glamorous atmosphere, Marbella is the perfect destination for a luxury long weekend.

We spent three unforgettable days soaking up everything Marbella has to offer, from leisurely marina strolls and hidden vintage treasures to sunset dinners overlooking the Mediterranean. Here’s exactly how we spent 72 hours on Spain’s most stylish stretch of coastline.

Where We Stayed

For our long weekend, we based ourselves on Marbella’s iconic Golden Mile at Eurostars Oasis Hotel.

Perfectly positioned between Marbella Old Town and Puerto Banús, it made exploring the area incredibly easy while offering a peaceful retreat after long days in the sunshine.

The room was nice and modern with plenty of space, we had our own large terrace and the breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve had yet!

Friday: Puerto Banús & Golden Hour Glamour

After arriving late the night before, we woke up on the Friday and headed into Puerto Banús for the afternoon.

There’s something about strolling around the marina that never gets old.

Luxury yachts gently bobbing in the water, Ferraris casually cruising past and rows of designer boutiques make it feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard of Mediterranean luxury.

Naturally, we couldn’t resist browsing the designer stores before stopping for lunch at LaLaLa overlooking the marina.

Spanish tapas, chilled drinks and unbeatable views, it was the perfect way to ease into holiday mode.

After some time relaxing by the pool back at the hotel, we made our way to Forum Marbella for dinner at Zilij Restaurant.

By Friday night, the Golden Mile was buzzing and the atmosphere was electric.

Stylish crowds, beautifully dressed diners and music spilling out onto the terraces created that unmistakable Marbella energy.

Delicious fresh food, local Spanish white wine in hand, and the golden hour light lingering into the night, I felt fully settled into Marbella mode.

Saturday: Wandering Through Marbella Old Town

Saturday morning was dedicated to exploring Marbella’s enchanting Old Town.

We began in the beautiful park, where elegant fountains and tropical greenery provide a peaceful contrast to the lively coastline.

From there we wandered through the maze of ancient cobbled streets, whitewashed buildings overflowing with colourful flowers and hidden little squares.

Every corner looked like a postcard.

Lunch in Plaza de los Naranjos was wonderful as we enjoyed more yummy food and embraced that slow Saturday mood.

A post lunch stroll complete with an iced coffee was idyllic.

Hidden amongst the charming streets, we stumbled across Deja Vu Vintage; a beautifully curated designer vintage boutique that completely stole my heart.

With everything from homewares, clothes, bags and shoes, it’s all presented so tastefully, almost like you’ve stepped into a chic Spanish home.

I found myself drawn to the brilliant selection of designer shoes so naturally, I had to try some on. From the classic YSL‘s to the Chanels, they were all in perfect condition and basically unworn.

But it was a pair of sparkling Valentino heels which I fell in love and for just €330 barely worn, they felt like the bargain of the century. Needless to say, they came home with me.

On the way back to our hotel, we stopped by the legendary Marbella Club Hotel to wander through its stunning grounds and tropical gardens.

We also found the famous dock with the iconic Marbella Club sign which I’d seen on Pinterest and had to get that ultimate Insta pic beneath.

Saturday Night: Date Night at Puente Romano

With my new Valentino heels waiting patiently in their box, Saturday evening called for full glamour.

Dinner was booked at La Petite Maison within Puente Romano Resort, and it exceeded every expectation.

Modern French cuisine, elegant interiors and a sophisticated yet lively atmosphere, made it one of the most memorable meals of the trip.

As the sun slowly disappeared behind the Mediterranean and live music filled the air, the entire evening felt effortlessly magical.

After dinner, we wandered into the Plaza area of Puente Romano for cocktails.

If Marbella has a place to see and be seen, this is undoubtedly it.

As night falls, the resort completely transforms. Every bar spills onto the plaza, music fills the warm evening air and beautifully dressed guests gather beneath the palms by moonlight.

A fun yet super classy way to end our Saturday date night on Marbella’s Golden Mile.

Sunday: Cruising the Mediterranean

Sunday began with something we’d been looking forward to all weekend, a morning out on the Mediterranean.

Originally, we’d planned on taking one of the tourist ferries, but after spotting a company offering private boat hire in Marbella Old Town marina, we decided to upgrade the experience.

For just €150, we enjoyed a private one hour speedboat ride with our own skipper.

We cruised along Marbella’s spectacular coastline before arriving at Puerto Banús from the water, passing incredible super yachts that looked even more impressive from the sea.

We then ventured slightly further offshore in the hope of spotting dolphins, although they remained elusive this time.

Even so, gliding across that impossibly blue water under the Spanish sun was one of those moments you wish could last forever.

If only every Sunday could look just like this.

After returning to shore, we enjoyed a leisurely walk along the beachfront promenade, before stopping at one of the relaxed beach restaurants for a coffee and bite to eat.

One Final Golden Hour

For our final evening, we ventured into the hills above Marbella for dinner at Nota Blu Brasserie.

Surrounded by mountain views and glowing in golden hour sunshine, it was the perfect setting to end the weekend.

The aesthetic was effortlessly chic, making it the ideal excuse to wear my stunning new Monday maxi dress.

Dinner was simple but exactly what we were craving; a classic prawn Caesar salad for me, a Margarita pizza for him.

To round off our final evening, we headed back into Puerto Banús for one last drink while admiring the endless parade of supercars cruising through the marina.

It felt like the perfect full stop to an unforgettable weekend on the Costa Del Sol.

Final Thoughts

Marbella has a way of making even ordinary moments feel luxurious.

Whether you’re wandering through flower filled streets in the Old Town, discovering hidden vintage gems, dining beneath swaying palm trees or watching the sun melt into the Mediterranean, every part of the experience feels beautifully curated.

At the end of May we were treated with a heatwave over the bank holiday weekend, so we made the most of it and had our very first BBQ of the season. We also celebrated our friend’s Wedding in Liverpool at the breathtaking Cathedral, followed by a reception at the stunning Tatton Park in Cheshire. From interiors updates and new pieces in my wardrobe, to spending quality time with our parents and lots of giggles with my friends, it’s been a fabulous month easing into the 2026 summer season.

Saturday Night Scenes; A Slice of Sicily in Surrey

This weekend called for a wholesome dinner date with my mum, dad and boyfriend, centred around great food, good wine and even better company.

We started the evening with a pre-dinner drink at The Wine Yard in Farnham.

It’s one of those places that instantly sets the tone for the night ahead; relaxed, welcoming and perfect for easing into the weekend with a glass of something delicious in hand.

From there, we headed 5 minutes down the road to Daniele Sicilian Restaurant in Lower Hale for our 8:30pm reservation.

The restaurant has such a warm, authentic atmosphere from the moment you step inside.

Naturally, we began by sharing a selection of starters for the table. The stracciatella, anchovy, cherry tomato, basil, pesto bruschetta was bursting with fresh Mediterranean flavours and was my favourite dish of the night.

While the meatball, rocket and parmesan bruschetta was rich, comforting and incredibly tasty.

A portion of the zucchini frites were the perfect accompaniment to complete our spread of entrees.

For my main course, I chose the Spaghetti Isola Bella, a beautiful dish made with king prawns, fresh clams, cherry tomatoes, olive oil and chilli.

It was everything I love about Italian cooking: simple ingredients cooked to perfection and full of flavour.

My boyfriend was particularly excited to try one of Daniele’s pizzas for the first time, and it absolutely lived up to expectations with a lovely crisp base and plenty of yummy toppings.

Meanwhile my parents were equally impressed with their meals, both commenting on how authentic and delicious everything was.

Sometimes the best evenings aren’t the grand occasions but the ones spent laughing, chatting and making memories together with the people who matter most ❤

Fairytale Wedding Scenes; Tatton Park Cheshire

There are some days that feel suspended in time, and my best friend’s wedding was one of them. A perfectly cinematic weekend split between the grandeur of Liverpool and the dreamy countryside charm of Cheshire, the kind of wedding that feels impossibly elegant yet deeply personal all at once.

Celebrations began with their legal ceremony in the city centre at the breathtaking Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.

Towering gothic architecture, soaring ceilings and the soft echo of footsteps against ancient stone created the most magical atmosphere imaginable.

The late morning light poured through the stained glass in that hazy, romantic way as the bride made her grand entrance.

Following the ceremony, the bride and groom greeted everyone on their way back out to the cathedral steps, where guests captured photos together in the midday sunshine.

Soon it was time to board the coaches which took the wedding party out into the Cheshire countryside for the reception at Tatton Park.

Set amongst acres of rolling parkland, wild deer and manicured gardens, it felt like stepping into an English period drama.

Upon arrival at Tatton Park, we were greeted with a refreshing Hugo Sprizt cocktail and delicious canapes as we soaked up the sunshine on the back lawn.

My boyfriend and I took a moment to have a stroll down to the feature fountain and lower terrace gardens with sweeping views across the grounds.

Taking a quiet minute together with those mesmerising views, the hum of the wedding party in the background and the entire day of celebrations yet to come, I couldn’t have been more content in that moment.

My wedding guest dress from Club L London was the perfect shade of pastel blue with a flattering asymmetric cut and off-shoulder neckline.

To accessorise I wore classic pearls from By Alona, matching pearl earrings from Heaven Mayhem, blush satin mules by Senso, and my sable Polene handbag to complete the elegant-chic look.

A statement pair of YSL cat-eye sunglasses were the finishing touch for a glorious afternoon basking in the sunshine.

I’m always so inspired by wedding guest dresses and I just loved my bestie’s polka dot strapless number with the full skirt and pockets.

Her butter yellow handbag from Marks and Spencer’s and matching yellow sunnies added a pop of colour to complete the vintage inspired wedding guest fit.

At 3pm we were called inside for the Wedding Breakfast in the Tenants’ Hall, where the opulent décor and colourful lighting set the tone for a brilliant afternoon and evening of celebrations ahead.

The table centre pieces were magnificent featuring flowers in rich reds and deep oranges.

We were treated to a 3-course feast of Indian cuisine served family style and every dish was exquisite.

Dessert was a refreshing trio of fruity delights to balance out those indulgent and rich flavours of the curry.

In between courses the speeches were made, and I was proud to see even our bride say a few words.

In need of some fresh air and a walk after all the food, we went for a lovely stroll around the grounds and discovered this beautiful orangery.

Filled with glorious green plants and the afternoon light cascading through the windows from above, it was like our own little oasis.

We also discovered a maze and rose gardens which truly felt like we’d stepped onto the set of Bridgerton.

Before we knew it, the evening party was upon us, and the traditional Indian drum performance welcomed the newlyweds back and invited guests to the dance floor.

As the evening went on, heels came off, the dance floor quickly filled up, and the atmosphere shifted into the most joyful chaos; the kind of night where nobody wanted it to end.

Somewhere between white wine, blurry dance floor photos and singing every word to early 2000s classics, it became one of those core memory nights we won’t be forgetting for a long time.

A reminder of how quickly life changes and how lucky we are to witness the biggest moments for the people we love most.

Liverpool and Cheshire delivered the dreamiest backdrop for a wonderful wedding weekend; dramatic city romance paired with soft countryside elegance.

What a truly memorable send off from family and friends to celebrate the happy couple ❤

Bank Holiday State Of Mind

It’s the late May bank holiday here in the UK and I’m winding down following a wonderful weekend soaking up the heatwave sunshine.

Back on Friday evening, we met friends at The Mutton for sundown drinks in the pub garden.

I wore this cute asymmetric dress from ASOS with a pair of nude thong kitten heel mules, my Coach handbag and MiuMiu round sunnies to complete the smart-casual look.

Saturday was another scorching day, so when 5pm came I enjoyed a glass of wine and some olives in our garden, whilst watching Emz and Nick’s latest Greece vlog.

For date night that evening, I booked The Leather Bottle for dinner in their picturesque courtyard area.

Even at 8pm it was still a lovely temperature to be sat outside as the sun went down over the neighbouring fields.

To start we ordered the padron peppers because whenever they’re on a menu, my boyfriend and I simply cannot resist.

For mains my boyfriend opted for the Bavette steak frites, whilst I had the Gilt head bream fillet.

Served with potato terrine, courgette, heritage tomato, feta and a salsa verde, this dish was divine and presented so beautifully too.

As we enjoyed our meal, the stunning sunset skies turned shades of gorgeous deep oranges and pinks, before dusk eventually set in.

Back home we embraced the warm night air and had another drink in our garden, festoon lights glowing and the moon shining brightly up overhead.

Sunday we were off to my boyfriend’s parents’ house for our first BBQ of the summer season.

Temperatures were set to be over 30 degrees, so denim shorts and my new pink contrast vest from Stradivarius and classic Birkenstock sandals, were the perfect cute-casual outfit combo.

I also styled my hair in a French twist to keep it off my neck for the day, not to mention looking super chic and elegant too.

It was the first time using their barbecue and outdoor space in their new house and it was all absolutely perfect.

Every corner of their house is so aesthetic and I was particularly drawn to these stone faces in their garden which give boho-chic Tulum vibes.

On the grill we had chicken skewers, burgers, sausages, corns and asparagus.

Of course a barbecue for us is not complete without my signature Greek Salad, so I was very excited to be making my first one of the summer this weekend.

There was also a Caesar salad, beetroot salad, Jersey Royal potatoes and all the condiments necessary for such a feast.

And not forgetting the footy game which had to be on in the background for the boys!

After lunch, I sat with my boyfriend’s mum out on their cute bistro set with a glass of bubbles; it was like we were sat outside our very own Parisian wine bar, pure bliss.

Meanwhile, the boys were equally chuffed with their setup inside to finish watching the football game.

My boyfriend’s mum even treated us to our favourite dessert she introduced us to of frozen raspberries, melted white chocolate and cream.

Before we knew it the sun was beginning to set and it was time to leave, but on our way home we made a spontaneous detour.

As we passed through Farnham, my boyfriend said we should do the walk at Caesar’s Camp to catch sunset.

So we parked up the truck and made our way across the picturesque countryside.

After about a 25 minute walk, we found this incredible viewpoint from which we watched the sun go down over Caesar’s Camp.

Sunsets never fail to amaze me; I find it mesmerising to see the sun dip below the horizon so rapidly in realtime.

A majestic sunset stroll was the most idyllic ending to our long bank holiday weekend showered in sunshine ❤

Aesthetic Date Night Scenes; The Ivy Asia Guildford

For ultimate date night vibes complete with aesthetic interiors, delicious food and top service, we are never disappointed with an evening at The Ivy.

With 8:30pm reservations at The Ivy Asia located in Guildford, we popped next door first for an aperitif at The Ivy Castle View.

I had envisioned a picturesque sundown drink on their terrace overlooking the castle, but the rainy English weather had other plans, so instead we sat at their brilliant feature bar where the bartender made our cocktails in front of us.

My look for the evening was built around my new Stradivarius white flared jeans paired with this gorgeous denim corset from White Fox Boutique.

I’ve been loving the French twist up-do I’ve been seeing all over my Instagram explore page, so I had a go at recreating the style myself.

Thankfully my hair was cooperating and I was obsessed with the final result which felt so elegant and classy.

To complete the elevated date night fit, I wore my By Alona pearl necklace, statement round gold earrings, my Abbott Lyon gold bangle, Sandro green velvet handbag and my favourite vintage oversized green Jaegar blazer.

The touches of green in my fit were the perfect little nod to the green accents at The Ivy.

Pre-dinner cocktails of choice were a Strawberry Mojito for my boyfriend.

And a Tommy’s Margarita for me with that perfectly sweet but spicy hit I’m looking for in my Marg.

Sitting at the central bar amongst fellow dinners as the busy Saturday night service unfolds, makes for a fun atmosphere to kick off date night right.

Soon it was time to hop back next door for our dinner booking at The Ivy Asia.

The vibe here is made for evenings out as the place comes into its own by night.

With a live DJ and the amazing green lighted floor, it always brings a fun and buzzing atmosphere for those Saturday night vibes.

We were seated at the bar whilst our table was being relaid, so we started by ordering some drinks.

A glass white in hand and ready for an Asian feast, we were taken to our booth table.

I requested the booth seating as it feels more plush and is often that bit more comfortable.

We even had the beautiful blossom tree overhead, perfect for those Instagram shots.

To start we had the edamame beans served with a spicy sauce for added flavour and a fiery kick.

For mains we ordered lots of the smaller plates to share between us and it turned out to be quite the spread.

Of course I had to have a plate of sushi so I opted for the salmon avocado roll and it was divine.

My boyfriend had his favourite glazed chicken karaage dish as well as the satay chicken skewers.

The cucumber peanut salad side dish is another must whenever we visit.

We also had the steamed rice, chilli noodles and wok fried greens for the table.

As ever the food was beautifully presented and tasted delightful, we were certainly very full and satisfied following our mini feast.

With its brilliant service, outstanding food and opulent interiors, complete with a buzzing atmosphere that makes you feel more like you’re in a trendy Manhattan hotspot, The Ivy is always a good idea for date night ❤

20 Years On;The Devil Wears Prada 2

The sequel we’ve all been waiting for, The Devil Wears Prada 2 and it certainly lives up to expectations with a fresh, elevated twist to the storyline that keeps things feeling exciting rather than predictable.

From the very first scene, it pulls you straight back into that fast-paced, glossy world we all secretly wish we were part of, even if only for the covetable outfits alone.

The storyline mirrors the arc of the original in a way that feels intentional and nostalgic, yet it’s layered with enough newness to keep you guessing the whole way through. Just when you think you know where it’s heading… it pivots.

The cast is, quite simply, brilliant. There’s a real sense of ease in the performances, like the characters slipping back into perfectly tailored pieces that never went out of style. The chemistry is still there, the timing is spot on, and the humour lands effortlessly.

It’s comical without trying too hard, very entertaining throughout, and filled with those sharp little moments that made the first film so iconic.

And the fashion was needless to say, fabulous. Every scene feels like a love letter to style with bold fashion statements, polished tailoring, and just the right amount of drama.

But more than anything, it’s the nostalgia that hits. Seeing those familiar characters again feels like catching up with old friends now a little older, a little wiser, but still so wonderfully themselves.

A sequel that actually delivers? Rare. But this one absolutely does ❤

April Diaries; Perfect Spring Date Night Aesthetics

Date night at The Lost Boy was everything a beautiful spring evening should be. As the sun began to dip, we headed straight for their huge garden where strings of glowing festoon lights twinkled overhead, creating the dreamiest golden hour setting on a buzzing Saturday evening in late April.

There’s something so special about those first warm evenings of the season sipping sundown drinks outdoors, chatting away, and soaking up that soft spring air together in good company.

Once we’d fully embraced the alfresco vibes, it was time for dinner so we moved inside as the evening chill set in.

We started with the Puccia Bread served with garlic and basil marinated tomatoes, a delightfully light and fluffy pizza style dough balanced with a fresh and fragrant topping.

For mains I went for the chicken Caesar salad with perfectly crisp gem lettuce, a deliciously creamy dressing, and that wonderful salty tang from the anchovies and parmesan.

Meanwhile my boyfriend opted for the classic steak frites cooked medium.

Of course, no date night is complete without a cute outfit moment.

I wore my new spring/summer suedette oversized bomber jacket from Stradivarius with white jeans from Mango, paired with my brown strappy top from C’est Normal and khaki mule heels from Next.

To accessorise I added my silk neck scarf from Le Scarf, my Celine sunnies and Moncrief sage green handbag to complete the look.

Effortless, polished and so ready for spring.

The whole evening felt relaxed, romantic and simply lovely; good food, pretty surroundings and quality time together.
