Easter Bank Holiday Weekend Scenes

It’s Easter Monday and we’re nearing the end of the long bank holiday weekend now. It’s a glorious time of year as spring is in the air, everyone slows down for the extra long weekend and we can finally look forward to the exciting summer season ahead.

Good Friday I spent the morning cleaning the house and getting the garden furniture out ready for the long weekend set to be warm and sunny. These fresh bunch of colourful tulips for the dining room looked particularly beautiful basking in the golden sunlight of the afternoon.

With the house clean and my work done for the week, I couldn’t wait to get down to a local pub garden and soak up the stunning weather with a glass of bubbly in hand.

I just love spring fashion as we can put away those winter coats and embrace layering and accessorising again. So on Friday I wore these vintage flared Stradivarius jeans, my C’est Normal strap tank top, Topshop square toe snakeskin mules, H&M Celine dupe handbag, a pair of cat eye sunnies and my current accessory obsession, a silk neck scarf – tres chic!

I then layered a denim overshirt with a long oversized cardigan on top to keep warm sat outside, as there’s still a chill in the air this time of year. Rooftop down on my Mini Cooper, tunes playing and the sun shining, bank holiday weekend vibes were in full swing and I was on a high.

That evening we went to my boyfriend’s parents for our first BBQ of the year. They also just bought this awesome fire pit for their garden, which we christened for the first time and huddled around enjoying our desserts once the sun went down.

Saturday afternoon I went to watch my boyfriend ride the jumps, before we went to the pub and ended up with his mates at the local Indian curry house for dinner. Spontaneous days like these are what the long weekends are made for.

Easter Sunday we didn’t have any plans with the family for once, so we went on a bike ride which ended up muddier than expected as we went across country fields on the way home…not good news for my brand new trainers!

After our adventure on the bikes, we enjoyed a chilled afternoon and evening at home complete with my favourite mezze nibbles, more wine and a delicious stone baked pizza from Aldi served with plenty of salad of course.

What a wonderful bank holiday weekend we had just taking it easy, being a bit spontaneous and getting outside making the most of the spring air and glorious sunshine; happy days ❤

Easter Weekend Wind Down

Happy bank holiday Monday babes! It’s the end of the long Easter weekend and I’ve really enjoyed the extra time off indulging in good food in the company of family and friends. The sun has been shining too, so I’ve had my soft top down on the Mini Cooper and been on a few countryside cruises, it’s such a good feeling!

On Good Friday, we kicked the weekend off with a pub meal at our favourite local with our parents. I had the chicken salad with a honey mustard dressing along with a side of sweet potato fries and white wine. It was a fabulous evening of catchups and laughs, we were at the table for over 3 hours.

Saturday was another beautiful day, so I went to spend a few hours at the bike jumps with my boyfriend and his mates soaking up the sun as we had some drinks and I watched them ride.

And just like that, it was Easter Sunday and we were off to my Auntie’s in Surrey for a roast dinner.

I always love to visit my Auntie’s home which was looking as gorgeous as ever with the exquisitely laid dining table ready for a feast.

We had a premium cut of beef with all the traditional roast dinner trimmings including crispy potatoes, sweet parsnips, buttered leeks, steamed cabbage, fresh peas and carrots, pickled onions and lashings of gravy – what a treat!

Before I knew it, we were back home breaking into our Lindor chocolate bunnies with a cuppa and ready for an early night. A truly wholesome Easter weekend spent with family indulging in yummy food, guzzling drinks and soaking up the glorious sunshine ❤

Easter Feasting and Family Reunion!

Spring has officially sprung and we already find ourselves in April with Easter weekend rolling around once again. I might not be religious, but I do love Easter time as an excuse to gather together with family and enjoy copious amounts of delicious food and chocolate, whilst getting merry on bubbles of course!

With lockdown measures gradually beginning to ease in the UK, we were allowed to meet in groups of six outdoors in gardens, the perfect excuse for our family to reunite at my brother’s new house over in London. Having moved at the end of last year, we were yet to visit and very excited to all be in each other’s company again after so long. There were many belated celebrations to be toasted including Birthdays, Housewarmings, New Years and even Christmas as we exchanged gifts to one another at last…

My brother did an outstanding job on his new Weber BBQ which we had all chipped in for for his Birthday back in March. We were treated to an absolute feast including king prawns from the fish market, wagyu burgers, lamb chops and marinated chicken wings from the local butcher, classic bangers and beautiful veggie skewers in my honour! Not forgetting the exquisite salads made by his wonderful wife – I had to steal the recipe for this Mexican style asparagus avocado salad topped with a mountain of parmesan cheese, delish 🙂

Finally I had a social occasion to get dressed up for, however being outside in early April meant we did have to get wrapped up. So I wore my favourite Stradivarius jeans and this new ASOS pearl button through white jumper, accessorised with my cute moon star gold earrings and matching Fossil moon necklace. Completing the look with classic Chelsea boots in maroon for a pop of colour and my floor length tie waist knitted cardigan which is super cosy and on trend for the season, I’m obsessed.

What a glorious occasion to be reunited with my loved ones following such a difficult winter in lockdown. We’re so lucky here in the UK to have the vaccine which will be our golden ticket to freedom and some sort of normal life again soon. There’s a lot to look forward to and I’m so ready for summer 2021 with plenty more social occasions and belated celebrations still to be had! Happy Easter everyone ❤
