Having lived with family on and off over the past year in Paddington, it’s time to pack my bags (including copious amounts of shoes) and find my own digs in Sydney. Being so central to the city yet close to the beaches, Paddo has been a brilliant stomping ground for me as I’ve found my feet in a new city, not to mention the trendy bars, most highly rated restaurants and chic boutique stores that occupy hidden corners of this neighbourhood.

Spending my weekends browsing the markets, trying another new coffee shop and meeting my friends for avro drinks in one of the quintessential pubs, I couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. However such an exclusive postcode comes at a price and an opportunity arose to live with a family friend in Lavender Bay. Given the idyllic location and beautiful apartment on offer, I decided to take the leap from central Sydney to just over the bridge…
Nestled right by the harbour bridge over in North Sydney, Lavender Bay is a hidden gem with sweeping views over the city and only a short ride into the CBD. I can’t wait to explore what this exclusive part of town has to offer with its numerous harbourfront bars and restaurants as well as Wendy’s Secret Garden which is just on my doorstep. Whilst this will be an exciting adventure discovering a new area of the city, I do see myself living back in the bustling hood of Paddo in the future. In the meantime, I’ll still be back regularly to see family and visit my favourite shops and bars as I pass by on my way to the beaches during summer.
